So what’s the difference you ask yourself?

Is drinking a smoothie equivalent to drinking juice?

Well the answer to that depends entirely on your intentions.

Both juices and smoothies have different benefits and both work equally well depending on your individual health goals.

Smoothies maintain the nutrients that are found in skins, cores and seeds. They also contain fiber which pushes food through the digestive system, binding and bulking toxins to assist the body in expelling them.
While juices on the other hand remove all the fiber but are more nutrient dense.

What does this mean for you?
Well simply put the difference is the fiber content.

Smoothies are a blend of fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables. This means smoothies preserve the fiber of the produce. The result? Keeps you fuller for longer and helps keep you regular. In addition you are able to add supper food to your smoothie to boost your nutrient intake.

Fresh juices provide a more concentrated, nutrient dense food, and facilitate a less vigorous digestive process, reserving energy for detoxification and regeneration.

Why Does Fiber Matter?
Dietary fiber, the indigestible part of plant material, is made up of two main types. Soluble fiber easily dissolves in water and is broken down into a gel-like substance in the part of the gut known as the colon. Soluble fiber draws water into the gut which softens your stools and supports regular bowel movements.
Insoluble fiber does not dissolve in water and is left intact as food moves through the gastrointestinal tract.
