One of the most important elements of a healthy lifestyle is linked to the type of food we eat as well as our eating habits. Food is an essential part of our survival and forms the basis of all our subsistence and nutritional requirements. This makes the attitudes we have towards food as well as the food choices we make extremely important.

We hear about diet after diet and fad after fad but fail to maintain a long lasting habit of consistent healthy eating.

Mindful eating begins by listening to your body and understanding what it wants and needs. We all have an internal wisdom married into our being that is constantly alerting us of what’s happening inside our bodies. And when you are in sync with your body it becomes easy to pick up when a certain food group does not work for you. It also becomes easy to notice when your body is gong though periods of stress or pressure.

Some mindful eating tips include eating until you are full, limiting irritant foods, eating nutritious foods, being aware of how your body reacts to certain foods, allowing yourself to rest when you are tired because sleep has an impact on what we eat and how much of it we eat.

So listen to your body when it whispers to you. Allow yourself to grow into the best version of yourself because you already know how to through the infinite wisdom you have within you.
